-15- Mångata

Standard

Noun. From Swedish.

“A road-like reflection of the moon in water.”

mångata

Similar to my post yesterday, I can’t find much information on this word. However, when the word is split into two – måne and gata – you get the individual words for moon and street (as far as the little Swedish I know informs me!), hence the unusual specificity of having a ‘road-like reflection.’

I’m sure that there are other languages that have similar words for lights reflecting onto water, but I can’t think of any at the moment. Feel free to add in your own in the comments!
