-16 – Tamigata

Standard

Verb. From Yamana.

“To walk with others in a line in order to move birds upstream, and then move around them in order to cut the birds off from escaping.”

bird

Possibly one of my favorite words so far, because:

  • It’s so incredibly specific, yet there are only 4 syllables in the word
  • Its cultural significance is probably enormous in Yamana (Chile) yet seems such an unusual verb in the Western world
  • I got to use the photo of a suspicious bird =D
