Adjective. From Malay.
“The attitude used by certain women, showing off a pampered or spoiled demeanour”
I think I’ve heard of this being used between Malay speakers before but have never figured it out. Manja has the connotation of being used by a woman, not a girl, usually in the context of being in the process of trying to attract a man.
Interestingly, manja-manja are defined as acts of affection, such as ‘to cuddle’ without such a connotation as the one stated above.
