Many think that an English equivalent of تراض  would be ‘compromise,’ however the former doesn’t imply any sort of struggle or begrudging resolution that may not be accepted by all involved. In fact, there is no Arabic word for ‘compromise,’ and this forum post on Wordreference gives an interesting insight as to how a very slight mutation of the word can create the opposite meaning entirely!
