-133- Tunumiaq

Standard

Noun. From Inuit.

“The person who supports the back of a woman during labour”

10000370

This is all well and good (I’m wondering which birthing position would be used as lying on a bed or propped up wouldn’t require this?) but I’d like to know if there’s a name for the person who holds the womans’ hand whilst she’s giving birth! It would delight me if it were onomatopoeic =P
